You want to get the cards flowing ASAP, and this is usually done by covering at least 2 slime-containing tiles with the first Mansion, even if that looks like a somewhat inefficient placement in the longer run. However, the first Mansion placement is special. As mentioned above, I plan this out very early in the run. ![]() Vampire Mansion is an incredible multiplier you generally want to cover as many road tiles as possible with these, as quickly as possible. I tend to place a total of 2-4 Spider Cocoons in a run after that point, I have enough Groves and Cemeteries that additional Spider Cocoons are not worth the opportunity cost.Į. I often wait until a new day is about to start before placing a Spider Cocoon, and at that point I like to place it almost immediately in front of my current position. I always look at the loop geometry and map out early-game Vampire Mansion spots before I place my first Spider Cocoon: the ideal location for a Spider Cocoon is adjacent to 2 road tiles, while not conflicting with an early Vampire Mansion placement. Spider Cocoon is something you want to phase out as quickly as you reasonably can, but it's essential for consistently getting started due to its high frequency and throughput. Later, I fill the entire loop with these, using Oblivion on Spider Cocoons (spiders don't have souls for Ancestral Crypt/Battlefield) and Cemeteries (I want to fight a full battle on every tile, not every other tile).ĭ. I also try to throw in -1 in time to block a Lich's Palace), and/or in range of a Vampire Mansion. ![]() Groves should initially be placed either near the end of the loop (I like positions -2, -5, -8. In the early game, I only place them when I'm about to walk past a Vampire Mansion-adjacent tile with no monsters on it, and I'm strong enough to handle vampire + 4 ghouls. Villages are optional the main reason I'm running them is to set up an infinite loop after the boss kill. You want them near the beginning of the loop because they are more likely than spiders and ratwolves to drop good items.ī. You leave an empty space between them to avoid getting owned by Skeleton Archers. Cemeteries should be placed at positions 2, 4, 6. My standard deck is Cemetery, Village, Grove, Spider Cocoon, Vampire Mansion, Battlefield, Road Lantern, Forest, River, Oblivion, Ancestral Crypt. So I'll explain my approach in some detail, and hopefully you'll see some differences from what you're doing and some of those differences are relevant.ġ. I think Necro is best for the initial kill, and remarkably reliable, but it took a while before I understood the class well enough to win consistently. ![]()
